- Brand and model number. On a built-in refrigerator, the tag is inside the fresh-food section near the top. On a range or wall oven, look behind the kick panel, under the cooktop edge or inside the door frame. A photo of the tag is perfect.
- What it is doing. Warm, noisy, leaking, a code on the display, a burner that clicks but will not light. When it started and whether anything changed, such as a power outage or a move.
- Access. Whether the unit is behind custom panels, in an island or an outdoor kitchen, and any parking or gate instructions.
